Constitutional Convention
October 20, 1990
RULES OF THE DAY
- Each person who has paid $10.00 downpayment toward membership will be eligible to vote during the constitional vote from 12:30 – 2:30.
- Voting will ratify the bylaws of the co-op.
- Procedure for voting: Raising colored cards. Green = Yes Red = No. Majority vote is needed to pass article. Majority = 50% plus 1.
- Procedure for amendment: While article is open for discussion, individuals may propose an amendment. A second individual must second the motion for an amendment. A majority vote is needed to pass the amendment.
- Immediately after each vote, the number FOR and the number AGAINST will be announced.
- Each article will be allotted 15 minutes for discussion and voting. In the event of a tie, the chairperson will table the article; it will be resolved by the interim Board at their next meeting. For each article, if more than the allotted time of 15 minutes passes, the article will be tabled.
- An individual must raise their hand and be recognized by the chairperson for up to one minute of speaking time. A person may have more than one minute if another voter gives them their time.
- After the constitutional convention, voters may turn in their nominations for the Board to the Secretary of the interim Board.
